Spring Is Here! Make Sure to Tackle These Maintenance Tasks ASAP
Spring is officially upon us! As we move into the season, there’s so much to do — like enjoy the improving weather, and marvel at the wildflowers in bloom — and, if you’re a homeowner, tackle your spring maintenance to-do list.
But what maintenance tasks do you need to do to get your property spring ready? A recent article from realtor.com outlined spring maintenance tasks to take care of ASAP, including:
- Inspect the exterior and roof. Winter storms can do damage to your home. Now that winter is in the rearview mirror, it’s important to inspect both your home’s exterior and roof for any signs of damage.
- Clean your chimney. If you’ve spent your winter cozied up by the fire, one non-negotiable maintenance task to tackle this spring is cleaning your chimney. Scheduling a chimney cleaning in the spring will ensure that your fireplace and/or wood-burning stove are functioning properly when next winter rolls around, and can also help prevent chimney fires.
- Clean up your lawn and garden. Now that the weather is getting nicer, chances are, you’ll want to spend more enjoying your yard or working in your garden. Schedule a spring clean-up to get rid of any debris, like branches, leaves, and other yard waste. Not only will it make your yard look better, it will also prepare the soil and garden for new spring growth.
