Sight Unseen Home Purchases Are On The Rise Due To COVID-19
Buying a home is one of the biggest purchases most people will make in a lifetime. And because it’s such a huge investment, most people want to see the home in person before pulling the trigger and making the purchase.
But because the coronavirus has limited would-be buyers from actually going to tour homes in person, they’re getting more flexible—and thanks to things like virtual tours and virtual closings, more willing to make a home purchase sight unseen.
According to a recent survey from the National Association of REALTORS®, 25 percent of the surveyed real estate agents who worked with buyers who made offers on homes, had at least one buyer that put a contract on a home without ever physically seeing the property in person.

So, what does that mean for you? If you were planning on buying a home, the COVID-19 pandemic doesn’t have to stop you. You can successfully tour, explore, and close on a house—all without seeing the property in person or putting your own or others’ health at risk.
